The Space Between Years: A Pause, A Breath, A Reset

There’s something about the end of a year that makes us all a little more… tender.

A little more reflective.

A little more aware of what worked, what didn’t, what we survived, and what we still hope for.

The space between Christmas and New Year’s has its own nervous system energy, doesn’t it?

Time feels slower. The noise drops just enough for our bodies to finally catch up with our minds. And suddenly, all the things we powered through in survival mode show up asking to be felt.

And honestly?

That’s not a bad thing.

Because reflection is how healing begins.

My Intention for the New Year (And Why I’m Starting Now)

As 2025 comes to a close, I’m choosing to step into the new year with more intentional purpose—not hustle, not pressure, not “new year, new me” energy—but grounded, regulated, present purpose.

And my very first step toward that is simple:

I’m opening the Mind Circuit app completely—free, unlimited access—so anyone who needs a nervous system reset can have one.

No paywalls.

No limits.

No pressure.

Just access to tools that help your body remember:

You’re safe right now.

Because before we can set goals…

Before we can manifest anything…

Before we can even truly rest…

The nervous system has to feel safe enough to be present.

And that’s the gift I can give right now.

What Are Micro-Resets (And Why They Actually Work)?

Micro-resets are exactly what they sound like—tiny moments that interrupt stress before it turns into full-blown overwhelm.

Think:

  • 30 seconds of bilateral tapping

  • A short visual reset

  • A rhythmic sound that calms your nervous system

  • A quick grounding exercise you can do in the car line, bathroom, or under a blanket hiding from your in-laws 😅

These aren’t “fix your whole life” practices.

They’re:

“Come back into your body” practices.

They help shift your nervous system out of:

  • Fight

  • Flight

  • Freeze

  • Or my personal favorite… functional shutdown while smiling politely

And back into:

  • Presence

  • Regulation

  • Connection

Brain Flossing: Because Your Nervous System Gets “Stuff” Stuck Too

  • I call this process Brain Flossing—because just like your teeth, your nervous system collects emotional debris all day long.

Stress.

Emails.

Holiday family dynamics.

That comment you’re still replaying from three weeks ago.

The news.

The bills.

The pressure.

Brain flossing is how we gently clear that buildup instead of carrying it into the next moment… and the next… and the next.

It’s not about forcing positivity.

It’s about giving the brain and body a rhythm that signals safety again.

Why This Matters So Much Right Now

So many of us are walking into the holidays—and into the new year—exhausted.

Not just “I need a nap” tired.

But the nervous system is tired.

And when the body is stuck in survival, we don’t actually experience:

  • The people we love

  • The meals

  • The quiet moments

  • The laughter

  • The magic

We’re physically there…

But neurologically elsewhere.

My hope is that by giving free access to these micro-resets, more people can actually:

Be in their bodies.

Be in their homes.

Be with their people.

Be present for the life that’s happening right now.

And Yes… One Day There Will Be Bigger Gifts

Someday, when the app has gone viral, and I’ve got Oprah-level resources (manifesting responsibly 😌), I’ll give bigger, more tangible gifts.

But right now?

This is what I have.

And it matters.

A nervous system that feels safe is the foundation for:

  • Healing

  • Love

  • Boundaries

  • Rest

  • Creativity

  • And a real connection

And I believe that’s one of the most meaningful gifts we can give each other.

From My Nervous System to Yours

As we close out 2025 and step into a new year, I’m not wishing you more productivity.

I’m wishing you:

  • More regulation

  • More moments of exhale

  • More safety inside your own body

  • More presence with the people you love

  • And more gentle resets when life gets loud

Download the app.

Use it as much as you want.

Let it be your tiny anchor in a noisy world.

And if all you do this season is take one small moment to come back into your body…

That’s not small at all.

With so much care,

Erin 💛
