Accessibility Statement

Mind Circuit™ is used by teachers, school staff and district administrators. Every one of them should be able to use it fully, with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, captions or reduced motion.

  • Working to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard set for public school districts.
  • Target: every district-facing product before 26 April 2027.
  • Known issues are listed openly below, and updated as each is fixed.

Our standard

We are working to make Mind Circuit conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the standard the US Department of Justice set for state and local governments, including public school districts, under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

This covers:

  • the Mind Circuit website and teacher app at mindcircuit.org
  • the Mind Circuit mobile app
  • District Hub and the school administrator dashboard

The Title II dates

Districts have two compliance dates, depending on the population they serve. We aim to meet the standard across our district-facing products before the first.

What already works

  • Animations and motion slow down or stop when your device asks for reduced motion, including in the 3D activities.
  • Every spoken line in a guided activity is also shown on screen as a caption, word for word, in type large enough to read from the back of a classroom. An automated test checks this for every activity.
  • Guided activities can be paused, resumed and stopped at any point, and the voice and music muted.
  • Screen readers get a written description of each 3D guide: what the activity is and every movement it shows, in order.
  • Pages are built with labelled controls and visible keyboard focus.
  • The home page, sign-in, sign-up, Book a Demo, these legal pages, and the public District Hub and school administrator sign-in pages pass an automated WCAG 2.1 AA check with no issues.

Known issues we are fixing

An automated check and a review of our code in November 2026 found these. We list them so that you know what to expect, and we will update this page as each one is fixed.

How we check

We check pages with automated WCAG 2.1 AA tools and review new work for accessibility before it ships. We are adding manual keyboard and screen-reader testing (NVDA and VoiceOver) of the main teacher and administrator tasks. An Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) for each product will follow; ask us for a copy.

Report a barrier

If anything in Mind Circuit is hard or impossible for you to use, tell us at erin@mindcircuitapp.org. Say which page or activity it was and what happened, and we will reply and help you get what you need while we fix it. We can also provide any content from the product in another format on request.
